AKSHA is a project to preserve the history and knowledge within a sacred art tradition by supporting its application in the contemporary world.

It's goal is to bridge the past and the present. To give artists, audiences, scholars and students access to information, while plugging regional craftsmen into a global community.

AKSHA began with a lullaby that grew into a storybook, a Kickstarter campaign, a 150-meter bridge, public art, poetry and musical performances, exhibitions, musical recordings, printmaking and sculpture workshops, videos, and jewelry.

Created by Minette Mangahas in collaboration with the Pohchang Academy of Art and Crafts, the Buddhadasa Indapanno Archives, and the Fulbright Foundation, Thailand.
